First Week of School

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Wow! What a great start! I just wanted to tell you that we had a wonderful first two days. The students are adjusting to the new routines and procedures. Please encourage them to keep up the great work. I am very excited to see what the school year holds. I know that it will be a time of learning and growing.

There are just a few things that I wanted you to be aware of.

-Please remember to pack a healthy snack for your child everyday.
-There are 23 students in the classroom. Please plan accordingly for birthday snacks. Please see the School Handbook for more information. Great ideas for birthday treats are pencils or other small prizes, or a simple snack such as a Rice Krispie treat, a cookie or fruit snacks.
-Take home folders will go home daily. Please spend some time looking through anything that might be in there each night, and please make sure that it ends up back in your child’s book bag.
-Please remember to wear sneakers for PE on Tuesday and Thursday.
-At the beginning of the year we will have rest time and then as the year goes on, start to take it away. To help those who do not like rest time, I do not mind if your child brings in 3-5 favorite books from home or a small photo album full of pictures of loved ones!
-I have received many of the forms back from the packet. Please don’t forget about sending those in if you haven’t yet!

Thank you for your help in making this an exciting year!
